Other

Our goal is to provide quality dentistry to patients who want to maintain a healthy smile. We understand that the cost of dental treatment is a challenge for many families, but you shouldn’t have to forgo care for financial reasons.

If you are insured, please check the list below for our in-network providers.

  • Aetna
  • Anthem BC/BS
  • Cigna
  • Delta Dental
  • Guardian
  • MetLife

Regardless of your provider, we are happy to file all insurance claims on our patients’ behalf.

For uninsured patients, we offer two options:

  • In-office payment plans give you some extra time to pay for your treatment. Please feel free to call us for more information about this option.
  • CareCredit is a convenient way to manage the cost of treatment with customized payment plans. Like a credit card used for healthcare needs, CareCredit allows you to choose a term and monthly amount that fits your budget.

If you require multiple dental procedures, we can help you manage the cost by planning your treatment in stages. You can then plan your budget and pay for treatment as you go.

We want to assure our patients that they can always expect the most comfortable and stress-free dental treatment possible. Dr. Sondhi is pleased to offer sedation dentistry at our San Diego dental office, including nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation.

Nitrous Oxide Helps You Relax

Nitrous oxide is a gas that we mix with oxygen, and the patient inhales it through a small nose mask. You will feel the effects quickly and experience a warm wave of relaxation as the activity around you fades into the background. The calming effects last as long as we administer the gas, and a team member will monitor you to ensure that you are comfortable.

When treatment’s finished, we turn off the nitrous, so you are breathing pure oxygen. As you do, your head will start to clear, and any drowsy feelings will fade. When you leave our office, you will be clear-headed and able to drive yourself from your appointment.

Oral Conscious Sedation for Deeper Relaxation

With oral conscious sedation, Dr. Sondhi prescribes a sedative that you should take about an hour before your appointment. This timing ensures that when you arrive at our dental office with the help of a designated driver, you will feel calm and relaxed.

The relaxed feeling will last through your appointment, and in some cases, we combine nitrous oxide with oral sedation for a completely stress-free experience. If you choose oral sedation, please be aware that we require you to have someone who can drive you home safely.

Emergency Dentistry

Dental emergencies are always inconvenient and uncomfortable, and sometimes they’re downright painful. This is the time when you need a dentist like Dr. Sondhi, who offers same-day emergency dental care for patients in dire need.

There is a long list of cases that can be considered dental emergencies. Here are just a few that we commonly treat:

  • Toothaches
  • Broken or cracked teeth
  • Jaw pain and swelling
  • Swollen or inflamed gums
  • Broken or lost crowns and fillings
  • Food stuck between teeth
  • Dental trauma

Some of these, like dental trauma and severe toothaches, are more critical and require immediate treatment. Fortunately, we offer same-day emergency dentistry at our San Diego dental office, so you can get fast pain relief when you need it.

Don’t Put Off Emergency Dental Treatment

If you don’t like dental visits, you may be tempted to wait it out and see if your toothache goes away on its own. The problem is that it won’t. And, even if the pain subsides with OTC medication, it will return unless we treat the underlying issue.

Your team at Rancho Peñasquitos Dental Center is always available for your dental emergency. Our policy is to leave openings in our schedule for patients who require urgent treatment.

If you think you need same-day emergency dental care in San Diego, please call us at (858) 484-3100. After hours, please leave a message on our voicemail, and Dr. Sondhi will return your call promptly.

Dental Implants

Dr. Sondhi has significant experience placing and restoring dental implants at our San Diego, CA dental office. We are proud to offer advanced 3-D cone beam imaging to plan treatment and place the implant in precisely the right spot and position for optimal outcomes.

Dental implants are the only tooth replacement that replicates an entire tooth, from root to crown. A tiny titanium post acts as an artificial tooth root that we place surgically in the jaw to replace the lost root.

Because titanium is a biocompatible material, it gradually fuses or integrates with surrounding bone and tissue as it heals. This process is called osseointegration and takes three to eight months to complete.

Eventually, the implant becomes part of your dental anatomy, just as the lost root was. After healing, Dr. Sondhi places a tooth restoration on the implant to restore its function and complete your smile.

Depending on how many teeth we need to replace, the restoration may be a crown for a single tooth or a bridge or denture for multiple teeth. We can even replace an entire arch of teeth with implant-supported dentures for a secure fit and stable function.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants?

In the 15 years she has been practicing, Dr. Sondhi has placed dozens of dental implants with highly successful outcomes. If you want to see if you are a good dental implant candidate, please call our San Diego, CA dental office.

We also offer implant dentistry for patients in Poway, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Bernardo, and surrounding communities.

Six Month Smiles

Everyone interested in Six Month Smiles braces starts with different needs, so treatment times vary. In general, Six Month Smiles treatment takes 4–9 months to achieve the desired results, with six being the average. The length of treatment in your case depends on how much tooth movement is needed.

The goal of Six Month Smiles braces is to address gaps, overcrowding, or bite issues that affect only the front teeth that show when you smile. Since front teeth are the most noticeable when you smile, Six Months braces may be all you need to completely transform your smile’s appearance.

Because we only treat the front teeth, orthodontic treatment can be completed more quickly than traditional braces designed to move all the teeth. Six Month Smile treatment is also discreet because it involves clear ceramic brackets and tooth-colored wires that are not as conspicuous as metal braces. And since your orthodontic treatment takes only a matter of months to complete, you don’t have to worry about the long-term aesthetic impact braces have on your smile.

Root Canal Treatment

At Rancho Peñasquitos Dental Center, we ensure that our patients have the most relaxing and comfortable experience possible. Dr. Sondhi has 15 years of experience providing gentle patient-centered care and exceptional dentistry and loves what she does.

We are committed to ensuring that you feel comfortable and well-cared for during your appointments. When it's time for treatment, we'll help you relax with a neck pillow and cozy blanket. You can enjoy your favorite shows on our ceiling-mounted TVs, and we will give you a warm towel to freshen up after your procedure.

Before Dr. Sondhi begins your procedure, she numbs your tooth with a powerful anesthetic so you won't feel any pain. We won't begin treatment until we are sure the tooth is numb and you are comfortable.

We also offer sedation dentistry for patients who desire a more relaxing experience. Nitrous oxide provides mild, short-term relaxation, while oral sedation and IV sedation provide deeper relaxation.

Another way we ensure your comfort is by using leading-edge technology like rotary endodontics. This fantastic technology is designed to make root canal treatment far more efficient and comfortable than traditional methods.
